No burn Spwipes logoAccording to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), UV radiation, or ultra-violet radiation consists of broad spectrum wavelengths of energy produced by the sun. These wavelengths from the sun can cause skin damage such as sunburns and even skin cancer.

While the ozone layer assists in protecting us from harmful sunlight, this ozone layer is, unfortunately, damaged now making sun safety even more critical.

If you spend a great deal of time outdoors, the EPA warns that you should be aware that the sun can cause:

  • Skin cancer
  • Suppression of the immune system
  • Cataracts
  • Premature aging of the skin

If you are unable to limit the time you spend in the sun, you should take precautionary measures to protect yourself. See our Sun Care Tips .

You may also visit the EPA website to read more of what they have to say on this serious issue.
